I'm so excited that you're joining me in Pattern Camp! We're going to have the best weekend ever! Now that you've enrolled (high five, by the way!), you might be wondering what to do now.
Here's where to start!

There's some important information about getting prepared for our weekend together (and some more logistical info inside the classroom, too).
LOG INTO THE COURSE CLASSROOM
Pattern Camp is hosted on the Circle platform. You'll be prompted to create an account if you don't already have one (it's free!). >> LOG IN HERE <<
INSTALL ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR
Make sure it's on your computer if you don't already have it! You can download a free 7-day trial right here. Make sure it's installed and ready to go before Saturday!
Dip your toe into Illustrator
If it seems overwhelming at first, don't worry! Log in and watch the Illustrator Primer video in the 'Resources Before You Begin' section of the course to get an overview, and then I'll show you everything you need to know during our weekend together.

Important Details
★ SUPPLY LIST / WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Your own computer (Mac preferred, as this is what I use in the video lessons, but PC will totally work, too)
- Adobe Illustrator (you can sign up for a free 7-day trial here). Please make sure the program is installed and ready to go on your computer before we begin.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection (for streaming video lessons live Zoom check-ins)
- Sketchbook or looseleaf paper
- Pen, pencil, and/or fine tip black marker
- Scanner or smartphone with a camera
- iPad Pro with a drawing app like Procreate or Fresco (optional)
- Wacom tablet (optional)
★ WHEN DOES CLASS START?
Your first lesson will go live on Saturday March 7, 2026 at 8am PT/11am ET.
Lessons will run from 8am PT/11am ET – 4pm PT/7pm ET both days, Saturday and Sunday.
★ ARE THE LESSONS LIVE? DO I HAVE TO BE AT MY COMPUTER THE WHOLE TIME?
This course runs online over the course of a weekend (8 hours Saturday, 8 hours Sunday). Lessons are released on a schedule through the weekend, and all students will work through the same lessons at the same time.
The bulk of the lessons are delivered via video and written content, not live on Zoom. You can pause as needed, slow down, re-watch, and go at your own pace.
Being there live all weekend is not mandatory. That said, the weekend will be jam-packed with learning, community connection, and excitement, so it'll greatly benefit you to spend the majority of the time at your computer following along in real time.

★ HOW LONG WILL I HAVE ACCESS TO THE COURSE LESSONS?
You'll have ongoing access to all the lessons and the private Pattern Camp community, so there's no time limit for re-watching the videos and practicing at your own pace!
★ ARE YOU AVAILABLE TO ANSWER MY TECHNICAL QUESTIONS?
Definitely. I'm available via email and also in our private community group. I don't want to leave anyone hanging with questions, so ask away and I'll help you as best I can!
★ WILL YOU GIVE ME FEEDBACK OR CRITIQUE MY WORK?
I won't be offering feedback or critique on students' work during or after the course. However, you're welcome and encouraged to share your work in the private Pattern Camp community and invite feedback from fellow classmates.
