A good friend was visiting recently, and she knows me so well. She knows I resist help (she kept offering), she knows I put a lot of pressure on myself, she knows I don’t take much time for myself to recharge and rest.... basically she sees right through all my stuff and tries to encourage me sometimes to be more gentle with myself. Anyway, she told me about how there’s a fattest bear contest every year in some National Park or something (clearly I retained the details well, haha), and this year’s winner is a bear named Holly. She is 435 pounds and was apparently single all winter long so she had lots of time to devote to herself. Ha! So today’s painting is in honor of Holly, who is a fantastic example of how to give yourself all sorts of lovely attention! (Here's the full message I wrote when I painted it.)

Original paintings are signed and dated on the back. They are wrapped in bubble wrap and packaged carefully to prevent damage.
For international buyers: Once your order leaves the USPS I have no tracking information until it is delivered by your local service. Please note: Some countries charge an import or custom’s fee. You are responsible for the fees imposed by your country's postal service. International orders typically arrive between 1-4 weeks from the time of shipment.
MY PROCESS
Every piece of art and every product that I make begins with an intention to connect with my intuition and with myself. Who am I today, and what do I need? Making art smooths out life’s rough edges and helps me make sense of all the complex feelings and experiences that are part of being human. Creating helps me find joy, acceptance, and gratitude. It is a balm for my soul, and I hope the things I make will feel like a balm for yours, too.
Whether it is a piece of wall art for your home that I created using paint, markers, and colored pencils, a deck of animal totem oracle cards, a bright, patterned iPhone case, or a hand-drawn greeting card — every single product that I sell is made with heart. Most products are made right here in my studio in Portland, OR.
My work is created both traditionally and digitally; my favorite materials and tools include acrylic paint, gouache, colored pencils, paint markers, wood panels, fabric, my computer, and my iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. I also sometimes use fun things like glitter, resin, and sequins!
