This is the title of a song by Devon Sproule that I love; I love painting to her music. This happened to be the song that was playing as I was thinking about the perfect message for myself today, and it seemed fitting. I had a healing session recently, and I discovered that saying “I love you” out loud to myself made me feel really weird and kind-of uncomfortable. But I’m learning to love myself more these days, and that’s really good! #SelfLove! Also, I’m trying to learn to go easier on myself, which is part of self-love, of course. I think this could be a nice mantra for myself each day. I love you. Go easy. It feels calming. What kind of kind words do you say to yourself? (Here's the full message I wrote when I painted it.)

My life changed dramatically in August 2018 when my husband suddenly died and then again in January 2019 when my baby girl was born. Creating nearly daily art has been one of the main ways I've tuned in to my feelings and to myself as I've moved forward. Sharing the art that I've been making and the messages I've been giving to myself has been a powerfully healing part of my journey, and I'm so grateful to have the opportunity to share my images and thoughts with you.
