A few days ago I received some sample yardage of my newest fabric collection with Blend Fabrics, called Affinity.

And I’m happy to tell you that it’s out in the world and ready for purchase! I’m personally excited to start sewing some things with this new collection — the first project on my docket is a roll-up/on-the-go diaper changing pad for my sister. Her baby is due in just one week! So I better get busy if I want to complete it before the baby arrives. I made one diaper changing pad last week as a prototype that I’m planning to use for my own sweet Baby Swift once he arrives and we go out and about in the world together — I made it out of some beautiful fabric from April Rhodes’ Bound collection for Art Gallery Fabrics, and it turned out pretty well! My sewing style is to sort-of wing it and figure things out as I go — I’ve never sewn anything from a pattern! It seems so intimidating to me — so it’s not perfect, but it’ll do! It’s funny how everything in my life has become geared toward babies, now that I’m so close to being a mom. Does that happen to everyone who’s about to have a baby??

I’ll take some photos of the first diaper changing pad and the new one that I make for my sister and show you those next week.

Anyway, I’m not sure where all my Affinity collection is being sold yet, but I have seen it online at Hawthorne Threads and If you see it out in the world at your favorite fabric store(s), I’d love to know! It’s my favorite collection yet, and if you’re the sewing type of person, I hope you’ll love making some fun things with it.

Have a great weekend, y’all!
